A hands-on automotive playground that proves the fastest way into car culture is to let people climb inside it.
eBay's Parts & Accessories team have spent the last few years disrupting the automotive experience space, and their Silverstone partnership needed a centrepiece that could hold its own in the eBay Zone.
We built the eBay Toolbox: an oversized, walk-in interpretation of the tool chest that sits in every garage, designed to demystify car maintenance for DIYers at every level. Giant car parts, interactive educational touchpoints and a spiral slide turned a category that can feel intimidating into something genuinely playful.
The space became a hub for the automotive community across the weekend, hosting standout cars, a live talk with Mo Gilligan, and hands-on mods and prizes with creators Mat Armstrong and Tomi Auto.
For eBay, it translated a parts catalogue into a physical destination that people chose to spend time in. And for the audience, it lowered the barrier to entry on car culture.
