As an industry of creative problem solvers, we need to work collectively to find ways to minimise the negative impact our work has on the planet. We publicly support a 1.5C future aligning our targets to reach Net Zero emissions by 2050 at the latest across our entire business operations and client projects globally.
Whilst we are often restricted by fast-paced agency timelines and client budget constraints, our biggest area of control is in how we design. This plan serves as a vital framework for future-proofing our commercial resilience, establishing specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) targets to close the gap between claims and operational delivery.
The scope of the action plan includes our employees, freelancers, suppliers, local community, clients and their audiences and engagement mechanisms are embedded into targets.
This Climate Action Plan is an extension of our responsible business policy.
Action Area 1: Measurement and Reporting
Implement comprehensive and transparent measurement of our emissions globally, aligning with GHG reporting standards to drive our Climate Action Plan in line with Net Zero commitments.
Key objectives include:
- Annual operational carbon footprint assessments
- Transparent annual footprint disclosures including direct emissions reductions and offsetting strategies
Action Area 2: Design and Procurement
Design with intention from the outset - making low-impact choices the standard with a focus on circularity, durability and responsible procurement, implementing reviews and audits for key contracted services and products.
Key objectives include:
- Universal design principles, material databases and project lifecycle checklists
- Decarbonise logistics, haulage, office energy and business travel
- Strategic supplier engagement mechanisms
- Zero waste to landfill targets across office facilities and business operations
Action Area 3: Collaboration and Leadership
Continue to support the acceleration of our industry transition to a more sustainable future with a focus on collaboration, collective action and increasing climate literacy.
Key objectives include:
- Carbon reporting and consulting as standard
- Screen and assess client alignment with company values including new business development targets
- Scale accessible climate education
- Deliver thought leadership through industry partnerships
Each objective is audited across a scoring matrix before being scheduled into ease of implementation targets:
- Short-term (12 months)
- Near-term (2030)
- Long-term (2050) goals
Level of Impact
Measured by carbon reduction potential, distinguishing between small internal cultural shifts (Low) and sweeping changes to Scope 3 and systemic supply chains (High).
Level of Priority
Determined by balancing impact against ease of implementation, ensuring business-critical compliance and high-reduction wins are executed first.
Our baseline measurement is established using our FY2025 global carbon footprint reporting, covering Scope 1, Scope 2, and core Scope 3 emissions following GHG protocol. We are currently undergoing a comprehensive review of this data with an external consultant and may re-baseline depending on the outcome.
These figures are based on an average across the Louder Group for FY2025:
Carbon intensity per employee: 80 tCO2e
Carbon intensity per £million revenue: 154 tCO2e
In line with our SME Climate Hub pledge, Louder Group commits to reducing these baseline carbon intensity figures by 50% by 2030 across all entities.
The Board of Directors holds ultimate responsibility for this Climate Action Plan, ensuring its goals are integrated into our core business strategy. The Board conducts an annual review of our progress against metrics to ensure continuous improvement and strategic alignment.
Achieving success requires the collective buy-in and support from all of our employees and stakeholders, including clients and suppliers. By promoting a culture of collective responsibility within our organisation, we ensure all team members work together to incorporate goals into their day-to-day work routines and planning to transform the world around us through on-going progress and change.
This Climate Action Plan acts as a living document and is reviewed at least every 36 months and targets, objectives and information are updated as appropriate. If we hit or exceed our targets, we want to celebrate these successes and set higher, more ambitious goals. And if we don’t make the mark, we’re committed to understanding where and why so that we can continue to improve.
The Head of Responsibility and Impact is assigned accountability for this policy. Implementation is secured through dedicated resource allocation, including automated technical budgeting software, an annual responsibility budget and role-specific employee KPIs.
