Amplify ensures 350K+ gamers get hands on with PlayStation...


For the seventh consecutive year, Amplify were challenged to deliver PlayStation’s biggest Paris Games Week yet.


Each year Paris Games Week is the focus of gaming media and consumers alike, setting the agenda for the year ahead, where guests expect an innovative, fun and memorable PlayStation experience – bigger and better than its last.


With a wealth of 4K gaming content on offer, we wanted to create a standout presence for PlayStation from Showcase to Show Floor. One that creatively brought the world of PlayStation to life in ultra-high definition, accentuating design, experience and consumer navigation at full scale.


PlayStation: Paris Media Showcase

Starting full throttle, Amplify worked with Stungun to deliver PlayStation’s Paris Media Showcase, a large-scale press conference that made exclusive announcements to top-tier international media, partners, influencers, publishers and retailers at the iconic La Grande Arche, Paris. Here, the agenda for the year ahead was outlined.

This visually spectacular show displayed a 4K LED screen and immersive landscape for Playstation’s high impact video content.

Watched by those in attendance, the show was also live streamed to gaming fans across the globe, and received 3.7 million video views to date. The stream was also translated into nine languages for all to enjoy.

PlayStation: Paris Games Week

Showcase done, Amplify officially opened the PGW show floor to the public, for five adrenaline-fueled days.

Boasting 3,700sqm ² of space and an impressive scale of stands, gamers were given the opportunity to get up close and personal with a string of the latest gaming releases in unique and engaging ways. The experience was designed to push the boundaries of storytelling, imagination and technology, featuring fully immersive areas including the PlayStation VR mezzanine and Detroit: Become Human.

Amplify was also responsible for designing, producing and managing the show’s sub stands; including EA’s Star Wars Battlefront II and Netflix’s Stranger Things: The VR Experience. The former enticing fans with a giant X-Wing Starfighter hanging above the gaming zone, and the latter offering a truly immersive VR experience that transported you directly into Joyce Byer’s living room.

Guests in the Stranger Things experience could also take home a personal GIF, created when users sat on BMX bikes to mimic their favourite characters riding through Hawkins woods.

PlayStation’s presence at this year’s Paris Games Week not only brought the ultra-high definition beauty of its titles to life on the grandest scale, it was also the brand’s biggest and boldest statement yet of its focus to create worlds purely for the players.
