Amplify + Ubisoft get to the heart of gaming...

Challenge

Amplify were challenged to design, produce and manage the Ubisoft stage at Paris Games Week and create a concept that would unify the brand content and programme of entertainment in one key focal point.

Insight

This is the first time Ubisoft have created a large-scale stage on their stand, alongside the likes of PlayStation, Xbox and Bandai Namco. For our audience, innovation is everything and we need to hold our own.

Strategy

Bring Ubisoft to life as the ‘Creator of Worlds’, an ethos embedded in Ubisoft’s brand book. Create a portal inviting our audience to travel in the magical worlds of Ubisoft’s key titles and deliver ongoing entertainment for their fans.

Solution

Ubisoft Stage.

From streamed esports and cosplay catwalks to tournaments and live scores set to iconic games, the Ubisoft stage became a hub for the fans. At the centre, Amplify created a 16mx 6m scenic structure that quickly established the Ubisoft presence as one of the largest stages at the show.

We wanted to create an adaptive stage, made up of three large jointed LED screens and a frame made of an interchangeable LED ribbon that reflected the colour of each title and specific content. Through this animated spatial environment, we turned the stage into a virtual portal that contrasted the outside world with the gaming world.

Amplify ran the show across the 5 days, including online streamed esports competitions and exclusive game demos. We also managed the Ubisoft Experience event, offering an exclusive programme of entertainment which included a live performance from the Assassin’s Creed Symphonic Orchestra, which was streamed globally across multiple online platforms.
