What's all this RSS stuff about?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) news feeds provide an easy and convenient way to keep up to date with your favourite websites via an RSS reader.
How do I use RSS?
To access RSS news feeds, you need a news reader. Most modern web browsers have built-in news readers. They automatically search for feeds when you visit a web page. If they find one they will show the orange or blue RSS icon or a link so that you can subscribe.
There are a wide range of different standalone readers available too. Some popular ones include:
- For Windows: Newz Crawler, Feeddemon, Awasu, Feedreader
- For Macs: NewNewsWire, Newsfire
- Web based news readers: Google Reader, Bloglines, My Yahoo!
