2016: Thanks, + No Thanks

2016: Thanks, + No Thanks

By Emily Brown|Brand Editor

Like everyone, there was a lot Amplify didn't like in 2016. However, we believe in being thankful for what we’ve got. Not only did we spend 2016 working with wonderful clients, old and new, we also got a fair amount of unexpected praise and accolades along the way.

14 new clients

Last year we welcomed some lovely new clients into the fold. 14 to be precise, all of who are being taken on new and exciting journeys with us. 2016 saw us spend time partying underground with Nike, building a house in Berlin with Airbnb and giving away a load of speakers courtesy of Sonos.

All eyes on us

To top that monumental year off, we also heard on the grapevine that we’ve retained our top spot as Creativebrief’s most viewed agency for the second year in a row, with over 165k sets of eyeballs on our page.

We won a certificate…

A particular highlight came via Event magazine who voted our founder, Jonathan, the most influential person in the industry in 2017. On the back of that, he was asked to write about his predictions for the year in Event - read all about it here

Jonathan wasn’t the only winner. Big up Urban Nerds' head honcho Luke Hodson who bagged the top spot for Event's 30 Under 30, adding to his infamous Forbes 30 Under 30 accolade. Nice.

And straight in at 33 was Celia Forshew, for the solid work her and the team do at student marketing agency Seed.

For the mantelpiece...

Despite not actually entering any awards it was nice to have the hard work of the team recognised throughout the year.

Adland’s favourite digest Campaign liked our work for Hunter so much they named it as one of their top three favourite live experiences of 2016. You can see what we did to create The World’s Smallest Festival inside a portaloo here

Our work for Sonos, where we unleashed a speaker amnesty on the streets of London and then built a tower out of lucky winners’ rejected soundsystems bounced us to the top of Event’s most memorable PR stunts of 2016. You can find out exactly how we made this noisy feat happen here.

FMBE clearly like their caffeine, as they gave our coffee selfie activation with Lavazza at Wimbledon won gold. Ace.

On top of this accolade, we managed to nab a nomination from Music Week for our collaboration that joined Airbnb and Abbey Road Studios together for a night of music and snoozing. Our fingers are well and truly crossed for that one.

Let’s chat

Phew. That was thirsty work - we might just go and grab a drink. If you fancy joining us for one to chat more about what we could do for you and your brand, get in touch with us here.
