Cultural insight

I’m sure most of you will have already heard there’s a new huge and rather exciting venue housed within London’s O2-named matter. Brought to you by the people who run London super-duper club Fabric, it’s a purpose built space that has been designed with the sole purpose of creating the most vivid and palpable audio, visual and kinaesthetic experience imaginable: a bespoke three floor, 32,737 sq.ft, 2,600 capacity venue, that comes complete with body kinetic dancefloor and 360 degree visuals.

matter has created a venue that’s both architecturally and technologically unique, whose heartbeat is its passionate and eclectic music policy. This first music mission statement demonstrates matter’s focus on music in both the live and clubland spheres.

First up at the London nightspot will be UNKLE, Late of the Pier and Iglu & Hartly for the club’s Live Launch on September 19th. The following evening will be the Club Launch night, featuring three-deck legend Carl Cox.

Other highlights at the 2,600 capacity venue include anniversary parties for Bedrock and Moshi Moshi Records, as well as appearances from Parisian disco rockers Justice, British electro merchants Simian Mobile Disco, DFA’s James Murphy and the highly tipped Deadmau5.
