The final event in the San Miguel Hidden Depths series and it was time for a little bit of art on the dance floor. Its Pop It’s Art collaboration between Airside and EMI Publishing took over the Amersham Arms in New Cross. The night, curated by Fred Deakin, one half of dance act Lemon Jelly was all set for dancing, debauchery, art and, of course, great beer.

So how do you start an evening with this many exciting acts? The only way is to have Kate Moross the hip-hop singer/creative maestro, talk through her recent ventures, work and opinions on everything music.

Next up was everyone’s favourite scribbler Jon Burgerman. The fantastic artist displayed his talent in the upstairs gallery where he began work on a piece based on the lyrics to the classic song WAR.

The WAR theme was throughout the upstairs gallery as pieces from the consumer competition were on display.  As well as this people had an opportunity to mix with the two earlier stars of the night Miss Moross and Master Chef Burgerman.

The ambient atmosphere of the upstairs area wasn’t being translated downstairs as DJ Paul Epworth was throwing down the tunes, before the main event of the night a live set from Sam Sparro. Sam belted out a set filled with favourites that sent the crowd into shape-throwing mode.

Next to embrace the stage was Cosmic Fury, the coupling of Fred Deakin and Tom Middleton.  With rave horns, high fives and maracas on display during the set, it was guaranteed to be something a little bit special. With some truly wicked graphics being coupled to the Cosmic Fury music by Airside Graphics, it really created the audio and visual party atmosphere.

The duo played what can be best described as a wedding set. The end to the evening brought with it a massive conga line, with Mr Deakin leading the charge.  A great way to end a night that definitely left its mark on the Amersham Arms, and will not be soon forgotten.
